Prime Minister of Armenia Visited Rostselmash

Today Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan and Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan visited Rostselmash. Director General of Rostselmash Valery Maltsev acquainted the guests with technical and economic potential of the company, introduced them main subdivisions and modern model range of agricultural equipment to be produced.

The visit was organized within the session of Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation of two countries held in Rostov-on-Don. Within the frames of session the Parts discussed main directions of trade and economic, scientific and technological and humanitarian cooperation between the Rostov Region and Armenia. Among the topics discussed — delivery of Rostselmash agricultural equipment to Armenia.

This question was raised in April during the visit of the Rostov Region delegation to Erevan, at the meeting of Deputy Governor Vladimir Cherkezov and Rostselmash’s representative with the leadership of Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic. The Armenian side has expressed interest not only in delivery of equipment, but also in possibility of its assembly in the country, as well as in organization of complex service support.

“High quality service of each bought harvester or tractor, other machinery and equipment — one of the main principles of the our company‘s sale policy. For the lasts years Rostselmash supplied 974 grain harvesters to Armenia. Many of them are still operating properly. Today we are ready to provide the Armenian farmers with required amount of modern agricultural equipment, high quality technical support of their work in field”, Director General of Rostselmash Valery Maltsev said.

Equipment support of the rural areas is one of the key directions of Armenia government policy in the development of agribusiness industry. According to data of National Statistical Service regarding agricultural mechanization as of the 1^st January 2011, there are more than 14 800 tractors, 1 400 grain harvesters, 1 900 tractor-drawn haymowers in the country. However, according to Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, for the last years modernization of agricultural equipment in Armenia has not been carried out. “The proposed changes will create the prerequisites for increasing the productivity of the sphere, ensuring availability of resources at the local market and increasing their use, which will result in increasing of agricultural equipment population and mechanization level”, said Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan.

Rostselmash’s partner in promoting products in the Republic is a local company Galoper. Galoper leadership is sure that farmers will have more opportunities to acquire harvesting machinery of Rostselmash, if this decision is adopted and other support operations of agricultural products producers are implemented. “Grain harvesters of Rostselmash are well known and appreciated in our country. The harvesters showed good results in threshing quality and performance reliability. In addition, harvesters NIVA give the best fit for few contour fields, which are a distinctive feature of farm enterprise of Armenia”, said Commercial Director of Galoper Vladimir Akopov.
